Clegg is a salesman. Simple as that. He has a product that appeals to very few people, but did a fantastic job of polishing the turd.

Seriously, if you think Labour have been bad, vote Lib Dim & within 6 months, you will be begging for Gordon to come back with his cabinet of experts.
+1

Showroom appeal, which is why I think that the televised debates are a very bad idea.

He's like Lyle Lanley, playing Springfield off against Shelbyville.

Labour are third in five polls tonight. Theit support could erode further if their lower end supporteres believe that they have no hope of winning.

The Conservative core support is a very solid 32% or so who will always turn out.

The current LibDem support level of approximatley 30% contains about 10% who have been LibDem supporters for five days now, based upon Clegg's "nothing is our fault because we haven't been in power since World War I" and his writing down of the names of all the questioners during the debate in order to be able to reel them off at the end.

I have no idea what will happen in the election, except that Labour will win a share of seats grossly disproportionate to its share of the vote thanks to its criminal rigging of the electoral system.

I think it's a fantastic idea from a long term perspective to vote Lib Dem. We'll end up with a hung parliament that won't last very long, but voting reform is practically certain. Then once we have proportional representation of some good size UKIP and maybe even Libertarians will have a good chance of getting some seats.

I can't believe how the polls have swung, are people really that thick? It's scary that people are going to vote as if it is the X-Factor, based on presentation style rather than on policies. God help this country.
Would you still be saying that if it had been the UKIP leader who took advantage and got his point across to people who hadn't considered it before?

At least his appearance has stimulated discussion and may actually make the great un-washed think about who they are voting for.
