Most major Abrahamic religion has something equally as ridiculous to say. We'll all scoff at the absurdity of some religious leader in a far away land, and yet on my doorstep you have the likes of Pat Robertson, and Jerry Falwell spouting the same claptrap about Katrina, or the earthquake, and no-one bats an eyelid. They are all as ridiculous as each other.

They absolutely are ridiculous IMO. Personally, I believe in God. The difference is that I have what one may call a "a personal relationship" . Religion itself is manmade and therefore flawed. Manmade religion is the cause of endless conflict throughout history.
