no tax, no vote. shouldnt get a say on how its spent if you haven't contributed.
Are you trying to tell me there are adults in the UK who don't pay tax?
out of of 61 million people there are 26 million tax payers

39 million are aged 18 to 65 and of the 26 million tax payers nearly 6 million are pensioners

so of working age adults only half pay any income tax at all yikes
I think you need to take out the people who choose not to be in employment and aren't a drain on society.

My wife doesn't work as we have 3 kids under the age of 8, but she has worked and paid tax in the past, plus we take the pain of it now and don't take a penny in benefits for the privilege.

It would be interesting to know how many true adult spongers there are.
i wasn't making any social comment on 'sponging', just saying how many people dont pay income tax. the number also includes 2m students (someone studying to become a doctor for example is hardly a drain on society, but very likely a drain on the tax payer, for now)
plenty of tax payers are a huge drain on the public purse, especially if they are sick or have a load of kids in school, or work for the government, or all 3. i guess half the number of non tax-payers are like your wife and the country is almost certainly better for it.

Fine do the calculation on a household. Also depending on size of personal pensions rather than state pensions the £6m OAP could still be net contributors so I say it sticks with them too.
there are 11 million pensioners, of whom 6 million pay income tax. i assume that means 6 million with private/public sector pensions and 5 million only getting the basic state pension. those on public sector pensions and those that are ill are a drain on the pot (but to be fair most of them contributed to the pot for 40 years previously), the healthy private pension pensioners are certainly still large contributors.

Ginger = No Vote.

Gay (unless lesbian and fit) = No Vote.
No. No. No.

Red head men are essential to perpetuate the red haired girl gene.

Red haired women are, well, essential.

Lessies? Do you work for the BBC, they seem to have a token one in every other show?

This needs sorting by gene management then or Ginger blokes should be sent to France or something.

And if I worked for the BBC I wouldn't have clarified fit would I?biggrin
