and yet the facebook page is full of people slating the panel and the journo (tulip) for putting these guys under pressure. some of them hailing what good performances gordy and clegg put in!!

about bloody time they were grilled properly and interrupted when rolling out the same old responses which have little or nothing to do with the question.
The problem you are having there is you are listening to Radio 1 Newsbeat, which has the intellectual level of pondlife, then you are cross referencing those people who are on the Radio 1 Newsbeat Facebook page. This will guarantee the intellectual level will have dropped somewhat below the level of an Amoeba.
while i agree that newsbeat (and indeed radio 1) is at the level you say, it's a sad indictment of the press to say that this is the worst live grilling they've had so far. plenty of acidic stuff written about them, but generally read by an audience who know they're charlatans to begin with.
Indeed. Like the live debates. They should be chaired by someone that will ask them for a proper answer, rather than accepting the drivel they are getting away with spouting.

how come the 3 main candidates are getting their roughest ride on radio 1 newsbeat??

clegg has shown his true colours and is no different. when asked a difficult question, he's just shouting these kids down and banging the drum he's comfortable playing.
yes

Lib dems has some stupid policies e.g Amnesty on illegal immigrants (tried by other nations and always failed), along with joining the Euro!

Cable and Darling failed utterly in that debate.

ETA: Andrew Neil left Cable speechless when he asked "isn't the biggest myth in this campaign your reputation?"

Vince Cable, I predict a financial crash, blah, blah, more soap powder, blah, blah...

I lost count of how many times I read very accurate predictions of an impending financial meltdown on Pistonheads well before Mr Cable-Cobblers stuck his gormless mug above the parapet.

Clegg lost any slight hope his party had of getting my vote when he started to ramble on about C02 and forcing people off the road onto public transport. He is a yogurt knitter in a suit.

Clegg or anyone else has a cat in hells chance of getting peeps out of their cars and on to public transport because we all love our cars too much.

Yhey would have to make public transport free and have buses every ten minutes that go virtually up every street in the country to make any difference and it will never happen.

If in the unlikly event we all got rid of our cars it would hit the industry hard as all the related firms close.

What the Gov want us to do is buy a car, tax, insure it and fill it with fuel and then leave it on the drive and catch the bus. It will never happen!
