what upsets me is that the politcians seem to only care about getting into power.
We as a nation are fked, proper fked.
It does seem that way. I appear to have given Mr Clegg too much credit, but I guess time will tell for sure.We as a nation are fked, proper fked.

The current system is flawed and needs reform, demonstrated by the fact that the party with the least votes is now calling the tune, and even though the Tories had most seats and the greatest share of the votes they could end up with nothing.
No it is not, it's fine as long as a bunch of crooks don't move the boundaries about to make sure the next lot cant win, as Labour have done. The Tories had a great election, just Labour have rendered it worthless by cheating (and yes I am perfectly aware Tories have mucked about with boundaries in the past).
FPTP works fine.
PR will mean BNP & Green MPs and I'm sorry no system is worth that price.
by the sound of it, there will never be another general election (as we know it) again..
the lib/lab 'progressive' alliance will impose a new electoral system without a referendum on the issue..........
Never thought i would say it, but it really is shotgun, tin foil hat and stockpiles of tinned food time...
Plus lots of viewings of V for Vendetta.
the economy is not going to go well for a time...
On the bright side, the lib/labs are going to have to deal with lots of strikes by the unions.
BA/Unite will be particulary interesting (20 days of strike, is not industrial action, but POLTICAL action). How many labour -Unite sponsored MP's are there agian?

2015. It will be a full fixed term abortion of a Govt.
And they will excuse themselves saying " it is what the electorate voted for" and "shows the need for electoral reform".
Those saying they wont be able to pass a bill assume they will want to or even care!

So you think it is OK to deny those that hold strong views that are at odd with your own any representation in parliament.PR will mean BNP & Green MPs and I'm sorry no system is worth that price.
At last there is a chance to unravel the cosy stitched up system that only ever favoured the two big parties.

Only if they make the right choice and lay thousands of public sector workers off, they won't as they are funded by Unite so will just do what they usually do, put taxes up.colonel c said:

Yes, any system that helps the BNP is a bad system.gtdc said:

It's understandable though, they've waited a long time for an opportunity like this and they have to grab it now - who would do any less in their shoes?
Shoes Deeps?? I think you'll find the Lib Dems wear sandals. With socks.Edited by hidetheelephants on Tuesday 11th May 13:36
