AN: "So Diane, based on your previous comments do you really believe that Afro-Caribbean women are better mothers than white women?"
DA: "err... phmmeee... euurghhh"
AN: "Isn't that a rather rascist viewpoint, surely there's lot's of white women who are good mother's?"
DA: "err... phmmeee... euurghhh"
AN: "And if black women are such good mothers how is it so so many black youths are involved in crime and gangs?"
DA: "Andrew... I'm not going to talk about this"

repeat for a full 5 mins!

So this future prime minister ( rofl ) believes that blonde blue eyes white females cannot be nurses or good mothers?

And some people think we Cornish are racist? rage
The Cornish aren't racist, they are just frightened of beings with superior technology. biggrin

It was a delightful piece of television.

She would have been pre-briefed but she didn't expect to have to give any real answers or for AN to keep pushing.

She is a complete joke but a dangerous and quite nasty one.

I agree with you, but the moron has got to a reasonable level within the Labour Party by playing her cards and the loony left would love to vote for her especially if it turns out she is also a lesbian transexual with 2 kids at home that she has raised alone.

Imagine all of the morons that bleat about the tories cutting benefits getting excited on facebook about someone that would look after them and ensure they don't have to even wipe their own arses nevermind work for a living.

I'm not so sure she was pre briefed, certainly not on the specifics of I'm going to ask about her Afro carribean mothers quote or how he was going to present it to her as racist.

I admire Neil, and I don't think much of Abbott, but I thought he went too far. It was obvious that she would be unable to defend the black mothers comment, or the private school issue, yet Neil seemed to take great joy in repeatedly sticking the knife in. It wasn't dis-similar to Deyton on HIGNFY.

It went too far, and he was far too vicious, especially as they have been colleagues for a few years now. Anyone who watches TW will realise that she's not an entirely credible MP, so I don't think that what Neil said was in any way constructive, just vindictive.

-1 for Neil, and Abbott is on zero anyway, and always has been.

If she isn't capable of defending herself re the black mothers comment, or the private school thing, that tells you she shouldn't have made those comments. She is an elected representative, and a thick, racist, hypocritical one at that, so why shouldn't she be held to account, especially as she wants to be party leader and would therefore like to run the country?

I didn't say that she shouldn't be held to account, I said that the manner in which Neil did it was unnecessary. Most people are aware of which orifice Abbott uses to talk out of, so it was nothing more than kicking a women when she's already down.

Haven't seen it yet but am looking forward to it greatly.

I can't agree with you on this, Politicians have an easy life, if they have the gift of the gab they can coast along without any credibility, professional nous or qualification. The very least they can do is defend themselves adequately on TV.

People like Abbott can end up in very important positions with the ability to seriously affect yours and my life, it's only right their hypocrisies are questioned and exposed

I haven't seen it but even if he had physically kicked her it would not have been far enough.

It's already been well documented though. Neil was mud-raking from 2003 over the school issue. Everyone knows what she's like, and, apart from the sheer joy of humiliating her, Neil added nothing to the debate, or the public's perception of her.

Her recent comment about black mothers ("They didn’t understand me. I’m a West Indian mum and West Indian mums will go to the wall for their children.") is nothing unexpected. Her comments about Finnish nurses exposed her for what she is, four years ago.

She's unfortunate in that she opens her mouth without thinking about what she's saying, and isn't the sharpest knife in the drawer, but everyone knows that already, so what was the point in last nights tirade?

It may sound like I'm trying to defend her. I'm not. I don't like her, but it was unnecessary in my opinion.

She had nothing to say! if she was white she wouldn't even be in that (reinforced) chair, if she was a bloke someone would have kicked some sense into her. She is a clueless bigotted hypocrit and I stand by everything I've said about her.

Please elect her as Leader
