Diane Abbott to be Labour Leader...

Amusing that during her announcement on Radio 4 she said that there needed to be a woman in the race. That would be so that all the other women in the party would vote for her, I presume. Wanting people to vote because of someone's gender? Well I never.
These people shamelessly promote themselves based on their 'minority status'.DonkeyApple said:

The sad thing is, if she was leader, they would probably do well at the next election. To the great unwashed she is That Nice Woman Off The Telly.
To the great unwashed she is the woman who has turned Tower Hamlets into the nirvana of free housing, free money, total support without ever having to work. She is a god.Outside of London people do not know nor care about various little boroughs or bits of London.

TH has been upheld as a shining beacon of New Labour by the young Labour electorate
The young Labour electorate should be made to walk around it after dark. Can’t really say it’s like walking around down town Bangalore . . . . . . . . as downtown Bangalore seemed far far friendlier than TH

I am looking forward to tonight's "This Week". How are Neal and Portillo going to react? Ridicule and Laughter? Will they pretend to take her seriously?
I can just picture Neil, with a twinkle in his eye, asking if she will continue to appear on the show if she becoms leader.
Portillo will lean back, and with a slightly puzzled look on his face, ask her what she thinks her chances are.
Who says that politics isn't fun?

Yes should be entertaining tonight. Also Mr Charles "write an article against the coalition but don't vote against it when my colleagues are in the room" Kennedy is on. Hope you don't think I'm gingerist here but he is a tt of the highest order.I can just picture Neil, with a twinkle in his eye, asking if she will continue to appear on the show if she becoms leader.

Indeed she is!"The other candidates are all nice and would make good leaders of the Labour Party but they all look the same... We cannot be offering a slate of candidates who all look the same. The Labour Party's much more diverse than that."
She appears to be going for the 'Cos I is black' angle.

She appears to be going for the 'Cos I is black, fat, and a single mother' angle.
