Part of me wants to return to the days of local scrotes getting a good kicking instead of local scrotes having rights and being untouchable
I would too, until I remember the friends of mine who were seriously beaten by Aberdeen coppers in the 80's for doing nothing but trying to get home, looking 'similar' to a suspect or just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. They used to do it for kicks, with no provocation. Regular and Transport coppers...Sheets Tabuer said:
Officer to be prosecuted for manslaughter.
After the Coroner's hearing that was as certain as the sun rising in the morning.Obviously he's still to have a trial but given what the findings of the inquest were it'll be very hard for him to escape a conviction and a few years of finding the soap..

Ian Tomlinson's family win apology from Met police over death in 2009
Four-year battle by newspaper seller's family ends with financial settlement and admission that officer used 'excessive force'
The Metropolitan police have issued an apology to the family of Ian Tomlinson and admitted for the first time that he was unlawfully killed by one of their officers who used "excessive force" during the G20 protests in London in 2009.
The statement from the deputy assistant commissioner Maxine de Brunner – and an undisclosed financial settlement – mark an embarrassing climbdown by the Met and the end of a four-year fight by Tomlinson's family to find out what happened to the 47-year-old who collapsed and died as he made his way home.
"I apologise unreservedly for Simon Harwood's use of excessive and unlawful force, which caused Mr Tomlinson's death, and for the suffering and distress caused to his family as a result," de Brunner said.
Tomlinson's widow, Julia, said the police admission was "as close as the family would get to justice".

People can die from falling over. If you shove someone over it's the risk you take.
I don't know if the risk increases if that person is drunk.

A few weeks ago, while on holiday, I slipped and fell down a flight of tiled stairs. I had absolutely no chance of stopping myself. One moment I was talking with Mrs Blib at the top of the stairs. The next, I was flat on my back at the bottom.
I damaged my arm and my side. I was very lucky that I didn't bang my head. What really shook me up was that I couldn't react in time to stop my fall. Nor protect myself.

If you shove someone over you don't know how their head will hit the ground or an adjacent wall. Shove someone over and they may not be getting up again.
