Good to see that in my local area these scamera vans look like they are going out of action!

Some of the comments made at the bottom show how the public have been 'duped' by the 'government message'.
And the guy in the article, Mr Kevin Tea, thinks that they are the saviour of all traffic accidents FFS.
You know just from his photo that he is 'the type'.

Please add comments to this site as you see fit. I think it needs some extra 'balance'.
Just posted on link. If cameras have lost money then they must have slowed us down enough not to be needed.

After all don't the partnerships say the best camera is one that doesn't take any money as it is effective in slowing us down.

And, incidentally, that BBC report mentions Cowley. Is this camera on the perfectly good Oxford bypass DC that was reduced from 70 to 50 for no good reason some years ago?
No It's on the Watlington Rd Cowley in a 30 limit.

I know the DC that RS was referring too... (turn left at McDonalds heading towards (and past the MINI factory).

I think there was a nasty accident along there where a people carrier crossed the carriageway and took out another car. The result was the concrete barriers in the central reservation and a reduced limit that most ignore.

Just seen a scammer hiding In MK for the first time in ages.

They hang around on the two lane 30mph stretches of course. Incidentally i don't think i have ever seen anyone doing more than about 40 on those roads.

Puff isn't directly with CSCP anymore - he left to join RSS Ltd., although he lives in the area, so probably pops in for a coffee from time to time!

If they want to raise a bit of cash, maybe they should hold a raffle to hand out the redundancy notices, be a good little money spinner that. biggrin

I am so happy smile

Tea and his sidekick Callaghan spouted so much crap and lies about their effectiveness in reducing road deaths in Cumbria that they couldn't believe it when deaths went up - they thought the answer was more cameras!

I hope there is an afterlife so Paul Smith can look down and smile.

An accident that was NOT caused by speeding ...

It was caused due to the woman driving her MPV with kids in it being distracted by the said kids, crossing the carriageway and killing the young bloke whose car she hit

(If I remember it all correctly)

The scamera partnerships are rightly being disbanded across the country, here in Somerset they will cease to exist from April 1st 2011. I agree, it is a shame Paul Smith isn't around to see it.

Article said:
Accident data shows that in the first nine months after the devices were scrapped in Swindon, there were 315 road casualties in the area as a whole, compared with 327 in the same period the previous year.

In total there were two fatalities – compared with four in the same period previously – and 44 serious injuries, down from 48.
