It causes me physical and phsycological pain when I can't eat due to tooth ache and i have to pay to see the dentist. It causes me lots of trouble when i can't see as I'm short sighted and i have to pay to get glasses. Fair enough if they want to pay for it but otherwise...they should have thought about it first.
Besides surely if they've been putting it about and need this surgery they've either slept with their fiancée/ once they met him they decided to wait until after marriage (really?) or they've been cheating on him. Odds are I suspect he knows shes not pure...

‘It is more cultural rather than religious. If the bride is not a virgin and does not bleed on the wedding night, it is a big shame on the family. There have been honour killings in extreme cases.

But as usual, they intro with the "taxpayer-funded" angle, like that's the most important.30 a year does seem to support the case that they're only done in exceptional cases.
And then...
"The health service figures, which do not include data on the religion or marital status of the individuals, seem to echo a trend reported by private clinics, which are seeing a huge surge in demand for the procedure from Muslim women paying up to £4,000."
25% increase over four years is not a "huge surge".

It is if it is my fking tax that is paying for it.It's an interesting cultural story, but the taxpayer funding element is inconsequential.

Surprise early withdrawal from the beardy one.
In an earlier statement about the proposed entry of a new venture to exploit this market, Richard Branson said.
"I have been keeping one eye focused on the opportunities to create Virgin Tubes.
At first Virgin Tubes was a heaven sent opportunity and looked like paradise.
But it seems a serpent has entered first and the perfumed garden no longer smells as sweet.
The NHS have it all sown up at the taxpayers expense and this is keeping out private efforts to enter."
