surely it would have been cheaper for the government at worst to fund private treatment for his operation in the last 15 years than pay out undoubtadly more in benefit. at worst he could have waited on the nhs to get it done. might have had to wait 2 years? could have saved 13 years of benefit payment and think about all the tax revenue lost... whole thing needs a massive shake up.

i am going to restrain myself from passing any comment or judgement on the individual obviously, but i wish him well in his new life ahead.

Guy I work with got no legs at all, but it doesn't stop him doing an HONEST days work.


This guys just a sponger. Gave up too easy just because the system let him.

I don't really understand this. How much would it be for an operation privately? Even if he had to get a loan, surely it would have been worth it.
