Christians threatened to burn a few korans, but then muslims actually burnt an American flag chanting 'Death to all Christians'.

Religion of peace... yuh sure.
OT here, but Point proven Muntu. I am not even religious but I bet that if we were " in the pub".. would you pull out that image or a poster in front of me? Or anything else from you little catalogue of hateful shots?

No - you wouldn't because you my friend are a key board warrior.

However Id quite happily call you this.

Utter coward.

My post was both on topic, and within the Pistonheads rules of posting. Unlike yours.

I feel that it brought a touch of humour to the topic, whilst showing an undeniable truth, and it backed up what MSTRBKR had posted - Are you going to start harassing and insulting him now?

Wind your neck back in, Rambo hehe

Jones has made a spectacular point about religious sensitivity and balancing this against exercising legally protected freedom of expression. From what I've seen, his demeanor has been dignified and his words considered.

Good point very well made to a world wide audience.

His words mean nothing to the fanatics. And they mean very little to most who even care a little bit about it. Religion is the whole point of these peoples lives and they hate anyone who has anything bad to say about it, or burn their precious, stupid book.

But well done to him for having the balls.

Maybe I should go into flag-supply, this sort of thing must be manna from heaven for them. I've never really understood why I should be upset about people burning a polyester cloth printed with the image of my country's flag. I'd happily supply tat to be burned.

I'm in two minds over this whole topic, the sensible bit of me says that we should have just ignored this guy and not give him any media attention whatsoever as its a complete non-story.

The other part of me says actually, why should the 'Muslim' faith be treated with such PC nannying over and above that of other faiths. The picture above demonstrated the burning of western flags is a pretty common occurence as are death threats etc etc..to anyone/thing that 'disresepcts' Islam. We don't hear public condemnation of these acts from the leaders of the respective countries? Or do we? Its not well publicised if there are...

It has become the norm for Islam to have to be seen to be treated with respect by the West yet this mutual respect is not offered in return so why do we bother?

It is almost expected now that if you publicly declare any non politically correct views on Islam you can guarantee that there will be a flag burning and death threats - how have we got to a position where this is the norm?

Thousands of retards have reportedly been lobbing rocks at a NATO compound in Afghanistan in protest against one nutjob threatening to burn some books. I'm beginning to side with the Pastor.

Four dead at a church in Iraq apparently in retaliation to this Florida church bloke thus far merely talking about burning a couple of korans.

Man:Hey buddy, my daddy died for that flag.
Bill Hicks:Really? I bought mine. Yeah, they sell them at K-Mart.
Man:He died in the Korean War.
Bill Hicks:Wow, what a coincidence. Mine was made in Korea.
No one – and I repeat, no one – has ever died for a flag. See, a flag … is just a piece of cloth. They may have died for freedom, which is also the freedom to burn the f**king flag, see. That's freedom.

That seems somewhat unwise. Surely all overseas bases will have been briefed to exercise caution in the face of provocation.
