Yea, that's us. One tiny church in Florida is the center of our universe. At least they are being pounded on by most other churches as well as general citizenry. Try not to sound like an idiot wink
Yeah but he's our idiot so leave him alone, ok?

Actually, you can have him. Check his profile though, apparently he drives his BMW into things biggrin
I saw that. Ahh from Sussex I see he is.....I suppose he takes "We wunt be druv" in somewhat a misconstrued fashion. hehe

Strange though, when one cleric or mad mullah in the Islamic world makes a similar outrageous statement/gesture and and countless uninformed, uneducated idiots agree with him those pesky Muslims are all out to get ya...

Same sh*t, different country.
That's one thing I love about the UK. We've kinda grown out of religeous hate mobs, for the most part

Can't have it both ways fella.
Off the mark again "fella". As I said, this idiot is getting pounded from countless directions. Sore a subject as it may be, we rarely see the majority of "good" Muslims doing the same to their small group of idiots. There, you brought it up.....fella.

That old chestnut. And to think I was agreeing with you there...

Every time some mad Muslim comes out with something here in Australia, basically every major Islamic cleric comes out on the attack. Says how bad what they are saying is etc etc

But it doesn't get reported in every media outlet. The Murdoch news organisations are the worst. They don't report that because it doesn't fit their view and the ideology they are pushing.

I haven't seen the "majority" of Christians comes out against this either. Just a few soundbites from a few people. Does that mean that the majority in the US support him? Of course not. It just means that like most normal Muslims they are going about their daily business, trying to distance themselves from this lunatic.

scratchchin

one religeous group commits acts, burning flags/books/murdering people, in the mane of it's book and the rest of that religion do nothing, say nothing.

One christian decides to burn another fairy story and everyone is shouting that "he does not represent us" ith even the US Sectretary Of State publicly condemning the guy.

What would happen if a Muslim nutter decided to burn a bible?

A, there would be an outcry and Billery Clinton would be making statments on behalf of the US Govt

B, The most senior Muslim in the US would decry the act and point out that he does not reprsent the Muslim faith, or

C, Nothing, and some people would even defend the guys right to do this and to celebrate his ethnic diversity?

I bet I can guess.

Apparently groups are already out in the streets burning flags and chanting 'Death to America' and it hasn't even happened yet. rolleyes

If this church wanted to wind them up, I'd have thought it would be cheaper, safer and more environmentally friendly to have 'Draw a picture' day.

You must admit Jim, there are a lot of people in your country whose views are influenced by religion?
Absolutely true. Fortunately, that influnce extends to extremely few the desire to kill, maime, behead, or book burn against those who disagree.
of course carpet bombing, laser missiles and daisycutting people who disagree with you is just so much more civilized isn't it?

especially when its the wrong country.-

still you've god Blair (I mean God) as your friend- (you know, the chap you like and thought was right all the way through his campaign of mass murder and terrorist recruitment.)
How proud you must be, and how much you must be loving his book.

Thing is 9/11 happened, it's done and nothing can reverse it, no amount of protesting or demonstrations can take us back to a point in time when it hadn't happened. The very best you can do is it to try and stop it happening again, the very worst you can do is stir hatred up even further.
This idiot and his followers are in the latter category. The 'Terrorists' must be laughing in their caves.

You see, you call him an idiot, but all he and his followers have done so far have said they will do something. We now have people in power reacting to what they have been saying, news flashing all around the world and nutters burning things.

They now have half the world looking at their church and will no doubt have a full house at their next meeting.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I find the reaction to a comment rather more worrying....who's the idiot/idiots ?

I see where your coming from, but if you feel boosting his congregation is a justifyable reward for stirring up a ststorm then.......he and his followers are

Its a good thing Americans aren't as sensitive... The amount of US flags been burnt must be in the millions by now! Where do they get them anyway?? Whoever is importing them into these parts of the world must love it when they see these type of news stories!

I may now buy his book and ask for it to be sent to the little church in Florida as kindling scratchchin

Given as the Koran should really be an aural tradition (learnt word for word as a child) kind of makes the whole "book" burning exercise a little pointless? If the media had just ignored it and let the close minded individuals have their little rant and bonfire (given my fuel bills lately, if this winter is a harsh one, I may be forced into a little book burning) we could all smile benignly at them and the world can move on.
Best thing that could happen - couple of prominent Imams pop down to said book burning with sticks and marshmellows, sit around the bonfire having a good time. If people want to waste their hard earned on books to burn when coal/wood/domestic waste is much cheaper than it's up to them.
