I bet this made the day for alot of kids....

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-11493...

Link should work for all but if you can't click it for any reason...

School kid in London writes a letter to "Captain Jack Sparrow" asking for assistance in a mutiny against the school teachers. Depp gets said letter and during a break in filming the new Pirates movie turns up at the School unanounced in full Jack Sparrow mode with other pirate cast members and entertains the kids in a hasitly called school assembly. Not that many A list movie stars would do that.

Top bloke!

Great to hear generosity like that!

I was half expecting this your title to be sarcastic, expecting a Christian Bale moment again, or something similar.

That was ace. He has always been one of my fave actors for his performances. The fact he looks more than 10 years younger at 47 is annoying!biggrin

Didn't know the 4th Pirates film was in production, excellent!!

Agreed, although it must be pointed out that it was the School who told the press. Depp himself didn't turn up with any press in tow and all the video footage and photos were taken by the kids and teachers on mobile phones. So although it will obviously give the film a nice little nod it clearly wasn't his primary intention at all.

I could well believe it. Depp himself did this for the girl, and I doubt there was any 'suits' told who could make owt of it.

I'm not really a fan usually of big family blockbuster movies but I love Pirates of the Caribbean, Depp is a superb actor and it's nice to hear that he's actually a nice bloke in real life, it seems smile

I really rate Depp; he's a fantastic actor and generally quite down to earth it would seem.

SWMBO would also leave me for him in a heartbeat.

I completely agree. He is better looking, more talented and far more successful than I will ever be. The fact that he is obviously quite pleasant and the antithesis of the traditional selfish movie star just goes to show that he must be a complete arse!!! punch

What a top bloke, that is something those kids won't forget in a hurry clap

Depp also helped out Nicholas Cage when he got into financial trouble.
Still though, I can forgive him for that.

Top bloke.
