They simply can't handle any kind of disappointment because they've never had to in the past.
Sounds very similar to something I heard/saw on a Police documentary about how we have certain sections of society who've spent their entire lives being hearing "Yes" up until the point where a Police Officer tells them "No".Personally I've no problem with students protesting, however misguided and in some cases plain thick I may think they are. As usual it's the minority that tar the rest of them with the same brush and do their cause no favours at all.

Indeed. But I would imagine the majority of the ones on Media Studies, Oriental & Eastern Culture, Advanced Marketing and American Studies courses who think they Billy Bigbks because they're jumping up and down on a police van, would piss their pants at the thought of actual fighting someone who doesn't abide by any rules at all instead of being hamstrung by Elf & Safety. And anyway they'd miss Hollyoaks which would infringe their 'uman rights.

I know I shouldn't laugh but.."Activists expressed shock at the reaction. "They were in a frenzy. They just went wild. They were trying so hard to hit us they were falling over each other," said Peter Mulhall, a commercial manager from Liverpool protesting at the amount of oil being traded."

Fox news this morning made a very strong point of saying this is a very loud minority and not indicative of any majority, student or otherwise.
Fair play to em, lets see if our media can do the same. A BBC report (for the previous protest) used the words violent or violence so many times it started sounding funny! Jimbeaux said:

So you are suggesting it is a quiet minority and is indicative of any minority, but only students.Fox News, never knowingly wrong for all that long.

Where were these lot when the Labour government actually abolished grants and introduced tuition fees? I know there were protests but I don't remember anything like that? Is it only cool to protest against a Tory government? And aren't most of these lot supporters of the Monster Raving Liberal Democrats anyway?
Yes strange thatUnfortunately the violence works. Do you really think the news would be bothered if it was a completely peaceful protest?
