That doesnt take away from excessive spending of course.
There is an upside. All the council lefties in non jobs can be fired from brand new smart offices. I hope the irony stays with them for many years.
Is it a load of crap or is there some substance to it?

I thought he said 80% is spent on childrens services, the elderly and the disabled. I wonder how much their art collection is worth?
Not likely, typically around 25% of Council Tax pays for Town Hall pensions. Probably already mentioned but always worth another. Our local Council is looking at losing 30% of the workforce by the middle distance.

Ever thought about the fact they just need a job and a public body had one on offer? I have doubts a capitalist would avoid a decent paying salary with a public body if it was on offer.

if you're under about 35 then your parents (generation) screwed you over, stole your money and your future.

The baby boomers will enjoy lavish state care from cradle to grave. The young will work longer, pay more tax and get less services.
Just hope that the young are distracted by jenny agutter and don't get any ideas from Logan's Run.

Because people of the correct (right wing) persuasion believe in small government and capitalism (risk/reward/market) so they tend to avoid being a part of a bloated parasitical state.
So you make the blanket assumption that X millions of people are not of the same political persuiasion?I'm better at making assumptions than blankets, although I could have a go I suppose..

No.BTW what is a 'capitalist'?

you were the one that said a capitalist wouldnt want to work for a public body so why dont you tell us?
secondly its all well and good wanting a small council but a lot of the people getting redundant will probably be doing jobs that many people consider important like adult and child social care

Someone from leicster was on earlier complaining that the cuts would mean stopping services like the benefit bus.
Yes thats right a bus that travels around telling people what benefits they can claim.
Hmmm
You forget that the benefit claimants that irk you the most are the ones already claiming the max (or probably even more). I suspect this 'benefit bus' advises the pensioners who decide to turn the heating off instead of claiming what they're entitled to.Yes thats right a bus that travels around telling people what benefits they can claim.
Hmmm
