TV Clarkson is just a character thats grown into a cartoon, written Clarkson is far far better, one small reason to subscribe to the Times . . . . . . . .

Apparently the Top Gear Xmas Show is drawing complaints (front page of one of the tabloids tomorrow apparently) from Muslims because Clarkson wore a Burka. rolleyes
Do you know what really is worth complaining about?

Clarkson was the worst driver from Performance car ever and yet he is the richest, just coz he spouts bullst for Sun Readers.

Long Live John Barker.

Haven't read the whole thread but has anyone pointed out that the Burka, which it wasn't technically anyway, is cultural not religious.

But John Barker is a miserable, humourless tt. Aloof and devoid of personality and so deserves no great success in the showbiz that is car reviewing.

Allegedly and with all disclaimers etc. of course. The views above do not necessarily represent those of their author.

There, I've put it right for you now (in correct order). EDIT (ah bugger, see you've just corrected it! wink

Anyway, I agree with you, but I'd add John Bolster to LJK, and, of course, Bill Boddy, who is remarkably still doing it at the ripest of old age.
Evo hacks not in the same league.
As for the Evo Porter guy, what drivel.

Clarkson, he's just a love or hate character. He knows that and plays on it. Personally, he makes me smile and I have no problem with him for one reason: the establishment hate him... that's good enough in my book.

It's 3 blokes doing an Entertainment show loosely connected to motoring. Putting a Burka on was just them having a bit of a laugh. As simple as that.
Unfortunately as in so many things these days people have lost all sense of humour and perspective.Top Gear hasn't been as serious motoring programme for many many years.
Its light entertainment.

People who don't like Clarkson are jealous of the fact that he has driven a lot more tasty motors than they can wave a stick at.... tongue out

What a load of crap that show was, 3 millionaires doing the same stuff they always do that was humourous first time round, but now just so predictable. Can't see Top Gear surviving much longer. I wonder how much that load of crap actually cost us?

I laughed when Clarkson said "now we've come to the part of the show where viewers who are interested in cars can switch off" as if there had been anything remotely interesting up to that point! An ageing comedy farce, yes, a car show, no.
A load of crap... BUT you watched it!!
It's death knell has been sounded... every year!
It's 'entertainment'... it's meant to be.

I guess I'm just getting old lol, a few years ago I would probably have found it funny too, now I just see straight through it.
I'm not a TG fan but this was good all round entertainment. It was educational and topical with a handful of genuine lol moments.

ffs, if anyone finds anything on TV that isn't easily seen through gimme a shout. Yes it's formulaic but there's some genuine humour in there, that bit where May emerged, head bandaged from hospital and call them all a bunch of s was great especially when Hammond siad "See!" "he's better!" then pulled his mask down and said "Look, it's us"

I even learned that the little Fiat is worth a second glance
