That would be an unregulated fare that they can get away with raising it for as much as they want. Unlike a season ticket (1 week, 1 month, 1 year etc) which is regulated.

I believe my season ticket is due to rise 12.7% this year. My annual car park ticket will no doubt also rise 10% or more as in previous years.

The good news is that I can expect greater comfort on the trains and a more reliable service coupled with improved car park facilities.

On on, wait a minute..............

My annual season ticket went up from £3500 ish to £3900 ish. An 11% rise. So yes, a regulated fare but that doesn't help much.

Brilliant! I'll move into London to be closer to work, that will save me a fortune on travel costs..

Ah, wait a minute, I think there is a flaw in the plan....

Sure. But my money is going on my property. Not keeping Bob Crow in champagne (when the workers aren't looking).

My weekly (Grantham to London Kings Cross + 1-6 tube) has gone up from £181.80 to £192.30. So £10.50 a week.

Brilliant.

Its rediculous, mine Ebbsfleet to st Pancras plus tube has gone up from £98 - £109 a week. Think this is something like a 10.8% increase.
Will have to get some new gear and get back on my bike asap i think!!

The thing that annoys me most is that we could save so much money on the Railways through efficiencies...

Government taking the easy option again.

(mine's gone up 7.8%)

I bought my monthly from Chiltern Railways today (Missenden into London).
It doesn't seem to have gone up at all. Or not by much. I cant remember.

Network Rail are not causing this price rise.

talk to the Train Operating Companies and their shareholders, and the rolling stock leasing companies, thats where the money goes!

wouldn't using your car be actually cheaper in your case? I done that journey every day a few years ago when i was based up there. you're even driving against the traffic (although parking in chelmsford can be a bh)

things now reversed and i'm based in stratford

its 60 miles each way plus dartford toll fees plus parking plus M25 aggro 2 days out of 5 at least......a week is a full tank on my Lexus IS350 which is £90 odd + on the miles racked on the car............
