Evidently the word "appears" in my first post was clearly far too complex for you to comprehend
Not at all. Just the usual necessity to post your own political theories into an unfolding story which no one knows the details of, and as I alluded to above, this is the very least issue of concern given what has happened. Are you still labouring under the misapprehension that I have to run my posts past you before posting them, just in case you disagree?
ps. Your "alluded to above" bit appears to have been a bit of a late entrant to the party in the form of a recent edit to an earlier post

I don't care what you post, but I asked you a question expecting some evidence to support your statement. None was provided. The edit to my post was posted 2 minutes after the original post. Sorry if it appeared late with you constantly pressing the refresh button.

The edit to your post conveniently gave you the opportunity to rubbish my contributions as irrelevant to the wider picture. Thank you for providing the Quality Control on this thread, I am sure you will be first in line when a Mod vacancy arises Actually, maybe not...

Clearly you are unable to take what was a tongue in cheek jibe with good humour. Bless.

I simply asked you a question, which you failed to answer with a credible source.

If Muntu and 968 could sort it out with a rapier duel at dawn, that would be lovely....not particularly bothered who wins.
Just watched Obama's press conference performance on the BBC about the shooting - he really is a cold fish, isn't he?

Haven't seen it yet, what was the connection of the little girl killed? Was she family or innocent bystander?

If my replies to your questions don't meet your quality standards, that is more of a shame for you rather than me. It doesn't take too much effort to find a list of the shooter's favourite books, and other info that will back up my answer.
Good night

OH yes, if it weren't for the teleprompter screen you would be able to see the cogs turning.............Just watched Obama's press conference performance on the BBC about the shooting - he really is a cold fish, isn't he?

His opening comment referring to the congresswoman in the past tense was strange as well - although his pause afterwards did seem to indicate he realised the error.

just watching the news conference. Not said yet but they have said he used an semi automatc pistol.6 killed and 18 wounded. Sounds like he was just shooting at anybody but they are not saying much.
suspicious packages being inspected he has a criminal record. guy speaking suggesting that he had mental health issues.
now saying he had made threats to kill in the past and been contacted by the polce over it. He definitely was not alone

It was just his style and delivery that struck me as very odd - he could have been discussing a minor budget proposal rather than the attempted murder of a public figure and the murder of several others.
There's no room for emotion when a level head is required, IMO. A strong emotionless speech is what I would want to see personally.eharding said:

Yes that was strange, but I suppose they may have been friends years ago, but were no longer friends? More likely just an error in the script though.Edit to fk about with brackets

A woman named Caitie Parker has been tweeting that she went to school with Rep. Gabrielle Giffords' alleged shooter Jared Loughner and that he had met Giffords previously.
Also," he was a pot head & into rock like Hendrix,The Doors, Anti-Flag. I haven't seen him in person since '07 in a sign language class" and "As I knew him he was left wing, quite liberal. & oddly obsessed with the 2012 prophecy."
mention of the 2012 prophecy is interesting

There is a big danger in the current rush to demonise politicians. Over the past few years, the media has essentially decided that politicians are liars, cheats, untrustworthy and no good. We all know that some politicians have been their own worst enemies and that some of them do fit into the sterotyped description.
But by holding them all up to be worthless parasites, we are actually giving a green light for headcases and weirdoes to rationalise attacks like this. It's not unique to the USA either. We had an MP here injured in a sword attack.
Dangerous times.

Yeah but voting results in a change of tie colour and fk all else.
