I assume you mean legally held...?

I would think you'd have to guess that. Part of the problem IIRC here in the UK, is that the info on licences isn't held as a national database.
For example it's known how many people hold SG's (shotgun certificates - almost 575,000 in the UK) and how many hold FAC's (firearms certificates - just over 130,000 in the UK) but that's people, not guns, as you can hold variations for multiple weapons on each certificate.
If all that info was held centrally on a database, you'd know exactly how many guns per certificate there was, and therefore how many legally held weapons there are (outside of trading dealers etc)
But on the basis of the number of licences, it will be definately over a million, but likely less than 5 million - at a guess.
