How in the wide wide world of sports can it cost £250kPA to pay the salary of a PC, undercover or otherwise? How long will it be before he has a book deal and sells the film rights to Bruckheimer? And is this not almost as scary as that picture of Libdem mutants?

That looks like the cast of Sin City, or Dick Tracy

Blows my mind that he was undercover against the greenies. What have they ever done that needed an informant. A few paint covered coats.

Big fking deal.

What a total waste of money and a PR disaster for the plod.

Apart from stated intentions to close power stations down and airports causing economic harm. Oh and numerous instances of damaging non Eco cars. Also that many of the Eco warriors are also anti capaitalists, anti vivisection etc etc.

Dismissing assaults on people is one thing, I think ignoring there other activities either shows a total lack of real world knowledge as to those activities or an intentional attempt to distance them from them.

There are a number of quite nasty people who use the 'cause' whatever it is to further their own fame amongst the group when they would be considered outcasts or failures in mainstream society. Criminal damage on a massive scale is criminal damage. Shutting down a power station is very impactive. It's also the aims of many a 'terrorist' organisation.

These groups are far from cuddly greens giving out leaflets.

One thing that has pissed me off tonight is hearing (R4) and then seeing (Ch4) a Jenny Jones introduced and signed as "Green Party, Metropolitan Police Force" arguing against the police tactics and what, in her view, is a waste of money given these twots "have the right to protest" (to close a power station?)

So she is using the media to push her environmental-political views and arguing against decisions of other forces/superiors. How the hell can she get away with this? She should shut her mouth and do the job we tax payers pay her for, and be put in her place by bosses. Surely this is a disciplinary matter, to publicly attack/shape/hamper force policy from within . . . mad
She's a member of the Metropolitan Police Authority, i.e. a politician who supervises the Met, not an employee. She's there to hold them to account and represent the Greens. (Though she should probabaly still shut her mouth hehe )

Just trying to think really hard about the last time a huge attack was perpetrated by greenies.
...
Thinking REALLY hard now.
Come up with nothing, I'm afraid.
The odd boat getting in the way of another boat. Big deal.

Not worth the money it cost to keep that cop unwashed.

Those cost money to commercial enterprises. There have been other issues such as stopping in flow of coal at one power station but on the whole you're right not many have been pulled off. Most have been prevented. Now I wonder how that happened?

Yeah, you're right. They're just gentle, well meaning, misunderstood do-gooders. Let them get on with it and save the fuss.

And wait for them to cost us all - not just fuel related businesses, their employees and shareholders - loads of lost money, lost work, lost time, lost rights to go about our daily business free from interference by self appointed, sanctimonious, anti democratic, criminal scum. Oops I seem to be contradicted here . . smile
