They've always done this with female presenters.

Without wrinkles. It's the wrinkles that count!

From what I've read of this case, it sounded like a slam-dunk that the BBC were mighty stupid to contend (I suspect they didn't care due to the unique way they are funded)

Miriam O'Reilly is 52 - and wrinkly.

They were worried about how she would look in HD.

ITV are much better. I mean, they kept on Judith Chalmers even though she was mummified.

Ms O'Reilly was reportedly told to consider Botox.

If my other-half came home with a similar tale, the perp might need plastic surgery himself. Some people have no respect.

Does your other half's work involve appearing on TV.

It is hardly surprising if TV executives want to put eye candy (of both sexes) on the screen, everything helps in getting ratings.

Interesting to hear Nick Ross' view on things. The same thing happened to him.

Channel 4 news made an intersting point.

TV is a visual media and a lot of these women who are now old only got the job because they were once young and pretty.

Didn't hear them complaining about that. The guy on TV said "you don't see many young mingers on TV do you "laugh

Not unless you are stuck with BBC Look East as your local news station.

You should probably swap channels and watch Becky Jago.

Yeah, especially with brainwashed viewing audiences!

As for the the perp it was a 'herself' (why is that not surprising? And... would you still dish out the plastic surgery?).
