I think you will find a serving MP is about to go down.

Eric Illsley member for Barnsley Central has just changed his plea to guilty on three charges of false accounting.

and Liarbour backed him for the last election in one of the safest seats in the country.

Stuff it to Millipede Dave.

Also he's parliamentary advisor to the Caravan Club which says something.

Good news that he got time etc....but why is everyone so interested in him getting raped?

I don't think that punishment quite fits the crime. smile
He missed hitting the plod by sheer fortune, he didn't deliberately miss. The intent was there, so he wanted to at least injure a PC. Therefore, a bit of 'rough treatment' in jail is fine by me...
Personally I think the sentence should be the prison sentence and left at that. If that sentence nees to be higher then so be it. Extra 'punishment' dealt out on a random basis shouldn't be part of the equation.

Personally I think he got off very lightly .. for what was attempted murder in my book.

As for Gilmores step son .. well - I wont be buying any more Dave Gilmore cd's ..

no doubt he's suffered a bit with the notoriety of this case, being on TV etc

I've no doubt at all that hundreds of scum bags get lighter sentences or even caution for violent offences that are just as bad (booting people in the head outside pubs) every week of the year

they should all be getting 2 and a half years

The less driven protesters, quite likely. The wannabe-tired-cliche protestors, not likely at all.

It would not surprise me if the tits decide to arrange mass protests to free the chubby chap.

I would find it rather ironic if he managed to do some studying while he is inside - i.e. start an Open University degree.

2 years and 8 months for throwing a fire extinguisher and endangering lives.

18 months for David Chaytor's fiddled expenses.

I wonder what they have in mind for Mr Assange?

I'm not one to rub salt in, but I think a video of his first night sitting crying in his cell should be played at all future demonstrations.

Just for added effect.biggrin

However if he doesn't cry a video of him tossing big bubbas salad would suffice.

I'm all for peacefull protest even when I don't agree with it, but when the idiots take them over and endanger lives an example is required.

I think you've misunderstood when people made comments about him bending over to pick the soap up in the showers. It's just that he's a student, and might throw his back out as he's not used to picking soap up...

Does he get actual money, or just a free weekend on a site in Clacton with flushing toilets??
