It's hard to say this without appearing overly dramatic, but I reckon he's probably got information hitherto unmentioned that will keep him alive. I get the impression he's almost dangling carrots at the moment.

I wonder if taking possession of confidential stolen data (while in the UK) and stating that he will be processing it puts him at risk of prosecution in the UK? What laws could it fall under? I suspect there are a fair few people trying to look for something, anything, to pin on him right now. Could this be it
