Well, my local one is decent for MOTs and price match tyres to internet prices. But then I prefer to make my own mind up rather than blindly follow what people on the internet say to do.
I doubt these lads are the first or last to go for a spin in a decent car, in fact I'm sure I remember threads on here about BMW dealers (among others) doing exactly the same thing.

So do I, I speak from my own, friends and clients experiences. My local independent also does a stunning deal on MoT's half price servicing and tyres - without having to grace the forecourts of these idiots.

There's a tyre / exhaust company in Wordsley who do similar with customers cars, witnessed them a few times ragging cars up the local roads on a 'brake test'
Again I guess you'll get it anywhere, and a good reason to stay with your car if you can when work is done (or preferably do it yourself so it's a decent standard and done correctly!!)

I woundn't go near them but to be fair this sort of thing can happen with empoyees of any garage, valeters, hire companys, from time to time ... very sad for everyone involved... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1348989/Bo...

My condolencies to the lad's family.
I'm not really surprised at a Porsche getting ragged by a couple of garage grease monkeys, that type of thing happens all the time (remember that youtube footage taken from a RoadHawk type device fitted to a Monaro?).
I'm more shocked at someone dropping their Porsche off at KrapFit to have some work done, other than tyres.

My thoughts mainly as well. Drove past one the other day and saw an 07 plate Jag on the ramps with one of their "mechanics" looking under it. Proves that money does not equal sense I suppose Jasandjules said:

Pardon? Any garage could have this kind of accident.Sorry to piss on the 'burn them, burn them' parade but in the article is says:
"The 31-year-old man from Tiptree, near Colchester in Essex, and his 18-year-old passenger from Chelmsford, were both arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and aggravated vehicle taking."
No where does it say that the men were employed by Kwik-Fit and why would employees of Kwik-Fit be charged with "aggravated vehicle taking" if they were just having a rag in a customer's car.
My reading of the article would be that there is a good chance that 2 scrotes jumped in the car and tried to drive off whilst people tried to stop them.
Which I assume could happen almost anywhere.
Or am I missing something in the report or the thread here?

"The 31-year-old driver and 18-year-old passenger in the powerful sports car were, it is claimed, workers at Kwik Fit garage, where it had been dropped off by its owner to be fixed."
Had the same issue with a local garage a few years ago with our Evo.
Wife had taken it in for an MOT, did as I had told her "wait while they do it", no sooner had she sat down in reception then it came back out, 3 other guys jummped in and it tore up the street with a full bore launch. 3 hours later the police are knocking on our door as the car had been reported speeding and driving dangerously.
Its not just Kwick fit who cant be trusted.
