Bloke loses a leg in car accident BEFORE he met this woman.

They get married & have kids & get divorced.

Court says he has to pay her over half of the £500k compensation he received.

He hasn't got a leg to stand on and I expect this decision has him hopping mad. If he has to sell his house he'll really be out on a limb and the taxpayer will have to foot the bill.

It is the Achilles heel of divorce law and I expect the appeal judges will be stumped.

This whole mess will cost him an arm and a leg.

Looks like he'll have to stump up the bill, it's a fair severance.

I may be going out on a limb here but I think he will win an appeal
He'll kick himself if he doesn't.

I think the appeal is crutching at straws.

The real loser is the tax payer - this case will limp along for years, instep with most cases like this.

Re: the judge, I'm going to go out on a limb, and suggest his decision was handicapped by existing legislation - he was effectively cut off at the knees.
