A CONTROVERSIAL TV host has been injured filming an episode for Top Gear.

Jonathan Ross spun his car after he lost control of his Kia Cee'd at 145km/h in the BBC program's Star In A Reasonably Priced Car segment.

Ross suffered a significant head injury and he was treated by paramedics at the scene, The People newspaper in the UK reported.

The 50-year-old Ross, who has a new chat show in the UK this year, refused to go to hospital and is believed to have insisted on finishing his lap after being given the all clear.

"My head banged all over the place and it’s still really hurting now. I was coming round one of the corners where you have to be flat out and it started raining," Ross told the newspaper.

"The back end went out and I spun out of control. It was almost a write-off. I was having big problems with the gearbox and kept shoving it into fifth when I wanted third. It could have been a lot worse and my head is still killing me."

Translation -

He spun it, walloped his (helmeted) head off the window or pillar. Paramedics checked him over, and away he went again.

I'm surprised you're all playing down this incident. I watched Top Gear on Sunday and it was obvious 'Wossy' had suffered serious head injuries and his clothes had clearly been ruined in the accident as well!

Or is he always like that.

He appeared on the UK episode on Sunday 6th Feb 2010. As there was no mention of the crash or 'banging of head' on the show, plus the link in the OP is to an Aussie website, I'd guess that he's appearing on the Aussie version of the show and it was during filming for that which he hit his head.

Not really as it could easily be a neck injury ie Cspine , the use of a helmet may exacerbate this as the weight of the helmet moving about in an incident causes issues, thats why karters neck rolls are popular and of course hans device which Im surprised they dont use , maybe because there is such run off they dont think there can be any injury .
