It's not shocking. America goes to war based on lies every time.

The evidence we were never meant to see about the Douma ‘gas’ attack. The OPCW has opened the door to ridicule, when the simple truth would have been enough

Meanwhile......

Washington has told Syria that it will "respond quickly and appropriately" to any chemical weapons use. The threat comes as a fragile ceasefire in rebel-held Idlib risks unraveling. The United States continues to see signs the Syrian government may be using chemical weapons, including a possible chlorine attack in northwest Syria on Sunday, the State Department said Tuesday.

article said:
The State Department said it was still gathering information on an alleged May 19 chlorine attack in the last major rebel-held enclave of Idlib, and warned of consequences.

"We repeat our warning that if the Assad regime uses chemical weapons, the United States and our allies will respond quickly and appropriately," the statement said.

The cover up by the OPCW is starting to get mainstream media coverage now. A post truth world.

I got pelters from friends and family when I suggested at the time there was more to this than meets the eye.

Conspiracy turns into reality. Look back at this thread, and the vitriol hurled, if you dared to highlight the collusion and extraordinary lengths taken, by western nations, to engineer the overthrow of the Syrian government.

Looks like the Americans have just thrown the Kurds under a bus.

I posted this on the trump thread

trumps pulling the troops from Syria that are protecting the Syrian Kurds, allowing the Turkish forces to invade.

https://www.wsj.com/articles/american-troops-to-wi...
https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/oct/07/us-t...

Sources say US is tonight informing its Syrian Kurdish allies that US is withdrawing from positions on Turkish border, abandoning so-called “security mechanism,” to allow an invasion by Turkish forces...

This comes after we asked the SDF to dismantle all obstacles and pull back from the border, in the promise that this would stop a Turkish intervention. In fact, it appears to have enabled one....

...In addition to abandoning allies, Trump is opening way for Turkish power grab in NE Syria that is a guarantee of future bloodshed and instability. The Syria mission was a rare success for US military power in the Mideast—now being squandered to appease Erdogan’s ambitions.

The White House statement says that Turkey “will now be responsible” for ISIS captives, who are currently held by Syrian Kurdish forces.

Turkey have been letting Isis fighters escape through their borders

and also

Last month,Erdogan, Putin, Rouhani hold 'productive' talks on Syria:
While all three leaders avoided providing specifics on the talks, the Turkish president said that "important decisions" had been made.

So is this trump relenquishing control for Putin? trump has frequently spoken with Putin, are these conversations also stored on the secure server out of the way? We know they have frequently discussed Syria

Lyndsey Graham isn't happy

Republican senator Lindsey Graham is enraged this morning, taking the rare step of challenging Donald Trump on Twitter and in a phone call to Fox News - the two direct lines to the president.

On Twitter, Graham outlined his opposition to the president’s decision to abandon US allies in northern Syria, the Kurds, and support a Turkish offensive in the area. Graham said the abrupt foreign policy change “ensures ISIS comeback,” “forces Kurds to align with Assad and Iran,” “destroys Turkey’s relationship with US congress” and “will be a stain on America’s honor for abandoning the Kurds.”

He also said if the plan goes forward, the Senate will ask for a reversal of the decision.

It's a bit more complex than that though, isn't it. The "Syrian Kurds" are traitors themselves, trying to carve out a homeland from Syrian land and oil, and "ISIS return to the region" is code for threatening to release the ISIS prisoners they currently hold. The American troops require supplies via the border with Turkey, maybe that is no longer on offer.

The Syrians will probably view this as "one down, one to go".

Not actually removing the US troops, just moving them enough to let Turkey in to slaughter the Kurds
https://twitter.com/TulsiGabbard/status/1181984547...

and presumably thus release all those ISIS prisoners to fight again against SAA.

All Trump thinks about is the financial cost. He even quoted how much the US was spending when he was speaking to the press.
Trouble now is, the Kurds are going to take rather large umbridge to being shat on by Trump. I wouldn't put it past them to say feck this, release all the ISIS prisoners and invite them to FO in a North Westerly direction to continue their work against US targets in Europe.
