remember when it peaked last time, there was talk of £5 and £6 ...before it crashed again

for everyone that makes a load of money, theres others that have lost money..so maybe thats why this is not a big celebration thread ....

personally im up, not a huge percentage, but at least its back in the black again smile

Looks like a horrible share to try and rationally invest in going by the past 12 months. Gaps up and down all over the place. Then again that is the nature of mining / oil equities.

I was lucky enough to buy this a while back at 32p.

Got out at 260 mid 2010.

kinds of glad i got out when i did as couldnt of ridden the wave where it went to 500 and back down again.

My new money i have been in and out of for the last 6 months is Sound Oil, drilling update due out this week, if you have some spare cash pile in.

Made a fair amount on this some time ago, bought at around 56p IIRC, got out mid £2, made a couple of k.

However, we've lost far far more than we made on other shares!

It's a mugs game

+1.

This company will be owned by a ridiculously high percentage of private investors who know nothing about the industry and get sucked in at the possibility of quick and easy gains.

If only the world was that simple.

So why is the stock undervalued then - what event is going to happen which is not already factored in to the share price?

I am all ears...

(Thread Hijack)

Here's my preferred share of today

http://www.google.co.uk/finance?q=LON%3Apfd

Largest UK food retailer, all the news now seems positive, certainly on the up from a low of 3p, had got to 7.2p before the Lloyd Grossman thing and can see it going well above it when the financials are confirmed (in the next month) and the advertising push begins in Feb too.

I know a fair bit about oil and gas too, and was 'lucky' to make money on DES and RKH, and a very large amount on TLW biggrin (major propping up of the rest of the current portfolio!)

However, i've lost far more on BPC, ARG, SEY, SOLO oh, and Encore Oil hehe

I've lost more than I've won that's for sure!

Overall loss to date 32.95%

Good luck though.

I'm back trading the big boys, VOD, BP, SBRY and HSBC until confidence returns and institutions are happy to move back into the riskier stocks following the rest of the private mugs punters.
