Market is being very cruel today. Awaiting news on the Fed.
Shame about MARL but you've got to be chuffed with SOLG. You in proper Kieran?
Good to see some new players. Good luck all
Only in proper on MARL, still see it settling about even today although up would be nice.Shame about MARL but you've got to be chuffed with SOLG. You in proper Kieran?

Not in on SOLG unfortunatly but plan to enter in a week or 2 ahead of their expected results, just need to get out of NMG or BMN soon (the latter has had a good day thus far though)
If you look at the trend today it looks like people exited MARL and went straight into SOLG this morning causing that spike. With no news expected there until 4 Dec onwards I can see it slipping a little in the meantime whilst MARL grows a bit as people return/more news comes out next week.

Why does it do this more often than not in December? Traders got that festive feeling?
In the most simple of ways to some extent yes. A general feeling of positivity, Christmas bonuses, bears away from their desks to get away from the festivities. All anecdotal but it sort of has a snowball effect. Everyone hopes there will be a rally and invests (financially and thus in the idea) and the positivity gets infectious.
Doesn't always happen though. If however you're ever going to take a bet on the FTSE, this is historically a very good time to do it.

I'm about £2,000 down....in 7 hours!
You're a true hero K. Just think. If you'd stayed in bed all day only answering the door to hookers, coke dealers and dominoes you'd be richer than you are having spent a day at work. The interview went well so hopefully getting up this morning was a positive thing! - doubt the GF would be impressed if I'd done the above - I'm well built enough as it is!
