Do you still use cash?
Discussion
We ordered Chinese tonight from a local take away which didn't take card payments at first I was annoyed because I had to go to the cash machine in my pjs and slippers but then thankful as I realised that my complete bank details had not been divulged to some unknown restaurant workers. I think that all take aways should provide a guaranteed secure payment facility
Some on here must be the tts I get stuck behind at the Dartford crossing !
It's cash you tts ! Or use a Dart Tag.
You do realise that a lot of smaller shops will never go to card transactions as it cost a substantial amount of money to set up, cost of machine, cost per transaction, cost of phone line or wifi or whatever the latest system is.
Mostly cash for me, large/expensive purchases are normally done online so its a card transaction.

Cash in, cash out. No bank charges. Tally ho....
What bank charges?Stick it all on CC. Earn cashback on purchases. Pay CC bill in full when it hits my doormat, so there's no interest to be paid. Meanwhile, my money has been living in an eSave account earning me a few pennies.
Win-win.

I am all for a cash free existence but you are aware that card transactions are expensive and we end up paying one way or another. Having said that, there is cost in handling cash. In the event of cash card fraud it takes a while to get your money back.
A debit is a debit!
Three months in the case of TJ Maxx customers whose pins were stolen.
Credit Card fraud...you just challenge, charge is put aside 'til resolved.
Although I do see the appeal because of the UK going "metal".
Some of those jars in the kitchen probably hold enough to buy a four pot banger

They will then charge their clients (banks) X pennies per transaction who charge that cost on (plus a profit) to the retailer. The end user (ultimate customer) gets charged anything from 0p to £3.

I'm taking from this that someone in Starbucks is putting their kids through Uni by ripping off RDMcG by selling him $200 coffee and unrepentant is a Drug Dealer or cash-in-hand labourer. Gassing Station | Finance | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
