Hello and happy new year smile

A quick question...

If a standing order is cancelled, and the bank makes the payment in error, can the bank pull the payment back, or is it up to the person who has received the funds in error to return the funds?

Cheers and TIA,
Mick smile

Is it a standing order or a direct debit?

It´s a standing order that´s been cancelled, but the bank has made the payment in error after it was cancelled.

Brilliant! Thank You smile

By the way, the money came to me in error, I notified the people concerned, and they expect me to sort it out.
Apparently they have spoken to the bank, and they were told the bank couldn´t pull it back.

I sent the e-mail at 1730 this evening, so how they have spoken to the bank at this time on New Years day I have no idea! smile

Thanks again.
Mick.

On the face of it you ought to know. But I run a few hundred SO at work and whenever there has been a bank fubar (not uncommon) I have to do the refunding. I have never known a debit on my account statement that I hadn't done myself.
