possible to reverse a payment made on a debit card?
Discussion
My partner recently purchased a bed for my daughter from a company online.
Cut a long story short, we never received the bed. We've requested a refund but the company are now ignoring any contact we make with them. Going by there Facebook page, we're not the only ones either...
The payment was made online via their website with a visa debit card. I've not had the chance to get to my bank to ask (Halifax) so does anyone know if we might be able to reverse the transaction? Is there any distance selling regulation that might work in our favor?
Short of heading to the companies offices and refusing to leave without a refund, what else can we do?

Yes. It's called a chargeback. Have a read here: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/shopping/visa-mas...
I would call them though, rather than going into a branch.
I believe they refund the money first while the transaction is in dispute. They then give the retailer a chance to respond and put in a counter claim. And finally they have to decide who they're going to side with (so you either keep the refunded money or they take it back).
