I leave my current role tomorrow and was wondering what the best thing to do with my company credit card. Cut it up and return it to the hsbc or just hand to HR?

Surprised your HR department have not requested you return everything in your exit interview?

I am leaving my current role in a couple of weeks, and our finance department have asked for my company credit cards to be returned to them for destruction!!

Cut the thing in half (and also through the chip) and return the whole lot to HR.

Our people aren't this efficient so I'm going to cut it up and return it with my phone etc.

I cut mine up and then took a photo of it before returning it to HR. I trusted my old company about as much as I believe in Father Christmas.

I was asked to hand mine in on my last day, we used to pay the bill and claim back so I had to also provide proof that I had paid the bill off. When I gave my boss the card, he just cut up into the bin and ticked a box on a form.

Cut it up, return it to Finance.

If they're clued up they will already have told the bank to cancel it.

It's considered good practice for managers to have a Leavers checklist which includes tickboxes for Return of Credit cards/phones/laptops/Corporate ID cards and telling IT to disable logins.

Be careful depending on what terms you signed up to.

I used to have a 'company' credit card but it was actually still a personal liability to pay the bill each month...
