Help to buy ISA

I bought my house before my then girlfriend and now wife moved in with me, so it's completely in my name.

She thinks that as she's never bought a house she should be able to get a help to buy ISA. She wouldn't get the government topup as she wouldn't be buying a <£250k house with it, but would still get 4% interest, which is way better than anything else out there.

Is she right?

I think they add the extra at the end when you are buying so yes if she went and bought a house for herself, no if otherwise.

She should still get the interest payment each year.
