I've just cancelled my car insurance mid term and as such there is a return premium being paid back to me.

The credit card I normally use to pay my car insurance annually doesn't have any outstanding balance on it so when they refund the return premium will it just show as a credit on my statement and if so can I just ask them to transfer it to my bank account?

You should show a refund on your credit card - which normally you'd take as a credit against other items debited on the card.

Not sure about transferring to your bank account.

It's an old credit card that I use once in a blue moon.

I'm 95% sure the answers are...

Yes and, if you are able to from your credit card, yes.

1. Yes.
2. Yes - but check it doesn't count as a cash advance/transfer and, therefore, subject to an interest/arrangement charge.
3. If a charge applies use it to fuel up etc until the balance is gone.
