Open a Help to buy ISA today and transfer to LISA for bonus

Can I open a help to buy isa this evening deposit £1200 and then transfer it to a LISA and get the 20 percent bonus on the Lisa and help to buy total next April ?

(Never bothered with help to buy isa as property we will buy will be over 250k)

You probably can do, but I don't see any benefit. All you'd be doing, would be moving £1200 from a slightly older HTB ISA into a new LISA (plus whatever interest you've accrued), why not just open an LISA and deposit the £1200 straight in to that? You'll not get any bonus from the HTB ISA transferred into the LISA when you move the money over, as your solicitor applies for the bonus during the completion process when using a HTB ISA.
