We're looking to purchase a new (to us) house.

I have approx £50k for a deposit in our house.

Earnings are combined £68k before tax.

The house we're looking at is £400k

We have legal fees and stamp duty covered.

Is this possible?

£390k max based on 5x plus deposit. But you have STDL and legals, moving costs to take out, plus thats on the basis of no kids, finance etc which they really scrutinise these days.
