No it isn’t. I can send money to anyone I want and across almost any border. It’s secure, fast and universal.
Bitcoin is faster, cheaper (and safer since there is no counterparty, no intermediary). I can send any amount, anywhere, in 10 minutes @ negligible cost right now.Of course it's not universal & it won't even approach this for a long time yet. We'll all be sticking to wires & sepa payments for the foreseeable.
Note that if Bitcoin ever takes off, the base protocol will get far too expensive for small transactions. Upper layers like Lightning Network that settle to it will provide the quick seamless low cost transfer.

You can also send an email but it doesn’t buy Gary a sandwich in Istanbul.
Yes, of course. I claimed nothing about what happens to the Bitcoin. If my counterparty regards it as a viable store of value, then the sandwich is irrelevant. As an aside, somewhere in my jar of foreign coins, I've a token than lets me cross the Bosporus on the ferry. Many years after last visiting, I could still return and get the same service with that token. The Turkish Lira coins in there are probably worth a tenth or less.

Assuming they haven't created a new token which means the old token is no longer accepted.Behemoth said:

Which one are we comparing to a cyptocurrency? It’s hard to tell. As an aside, somewhere in my jar of foreign coins, I've a token than lets me cross the Bosporus on the ferry. I cannot believe this thread is now on page 119 and we have pretty much the same characters stating exactly the same thing they did way back on page 10 or 15.
I take it you don't visit PH much? Behemoth said:
You seem unaware that I answered your irrelevant question and yet you continue to throw insults in an attempt to discredit my character. Pure ad hominem. Please talk about bitcoin & cryptocurrencies or move on, James. I am happy to debate, but I see no sense in debating unrelated subjects.
I really wonder what holds your interest in crypto, given you don't seem to have skin in the game.
Any chance of you printing me to where you answered my questions about conspiracy theories? You were very keen on back and forth before but seem to have been studiously avoiding me after you claim to have answered.I really wonder what holds your interest in crypto, given you don't seem to have skin in the game.
You do understand, don’t you, that people can read what you have written?

Why are you asking about conspiracy theories? You do understand, don’t you, that people can read what you have written?
Do you believe in God or a higher being?

I’m asking about it because there seems to be a really strong correlation between arguing for cryptocurrencies and espousing conspiracy theories, and it interests me.Do you believe in God or a higher being?
And no, I don’t believe in a god or a higher being, do you?
And since I’ve politely answered your questions, would you answer mine? Do you believe in any “grand” conspiracy theories, such as the moon landings being a hoax, chemtrails, vaccines causing autism or the like?
So while your all babbling all at each other about 'speculative markets' have non of you seen the latest news.
Xrp is actually going to be used for 3 companies to lower their cross border costs, first crypto to actually be used and not just speculated upon, most of them are ponzis but i think this one is the real deal.

I was asking about god or a higher power because of course ultimate approval of all actions of the Bank of England (e.g. appointment of Governor) rest with the Queen who is in position because of her divine right to rule. We even have her picture on our bank notes...have you noticed?
You surely therefore have to accept that belief in god has more of a proven link to the current system of finance than conspiracy theories do to bitcoin?

Really, James. It's there in plain sight. You're a man seemingly obsessed with conspiracy theories and yet there are none. I trust your forex data analysis abilities are better than your skills at parsing an interweb forum. You do understand, don’t you, that people can read what you have written?

I genuinely dont think any crypto like litecoin will survive because what exactly does having another currency solve?
