I've also heard it's a bit of a highly visible decoy and they've actually moved most of the gold somewhere else less well known.

I would defy (do you see what I did there) anyone on the Clapham omnibus to recognise, let alone know the use case for, more than 1 of them

I suspect the remainder of this year will be more of the same and things will start to pick up in Jan.
Why ?
Because the US elections will have been and gone which is a cause for uncertainty in the markets.

Why would they need to? Chainlink - and most of crypto really - isn't a consumer product.

But banks, large financial institutions, etc. are generally well known and heard of. Intel I recognise, the rest - mainly bks. And deliberately played up little diagrams with Mastercard, "the bank", etc. that don't actually use LINK at all. The sheer number of shady no-name crypto exchanges, nothingcoins etc. isn't exactly reassuring either.

''inherent nature of the underlying assets, which means they have no reliable basis for valuation''

you would think but even though China banned Cryptos, there is a certain resilience.

in a weird way it seems to be everything to everyone. It hs a great habit of pivoting to the next big thing. You here it on here, BTC is the new gold, it is the new anonymous payment system, hedge against FIAT. it is the new ''insert new buzz word''.

It usually dips before xmas as people cash out and picks up in the new year, lets see what happens.

Anyone watch Pompliano's interview with Michael Saylor (MicroStrategy) a few weeks ago? One of the most logical and bullish podcasts I have watched in a long time.

Square has bought $50m of Bitcoin - 1% of its assets

https://squareup.com/us/en/about/investors/press/2...

"SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- Square, Inc. (NYSE: SQ) announced today that it has purchased approximately 4,709 bitcoins at an aggregate purchase price of $50 million. Square believes that cryptocurrency is an instrument of economic empowerment and provides a way for the world to participate in a global monetary system, which aligns with the company’s purpose. The investment represents approximately one percent of Square’s total assets as of the end of the second quarter of 2020.

“We believe that bitcoin has the potential to be a more ubiquitous currency in the future,” said Square’s Chief Financial Officer, Amrita Ahuja. “As it grows in adoption, we intend to learn and participate in a disciplined way. For a company that is building products based on a more inclusive future, this investment is a step on that journey.

This is a cryptocurrency thread in the finance section of a car forum. Do you also object to the "Best paint for fences" threads in the Home, Gardens and DIY forum?
Or the NPE threads you post in, or the TV and music threads you post in? Why are you posting about TV series in this, a car forum?

+1 Yes I see this a few times, as well as why are you asking strangers on the internet or such like, yet they dont see the irony of them being on this forum and posting their dribble. Best just ignore it is pointless even acknowledging them.

Microstrategy 38,250 BTC @ $11,111.11

Square 4,709 BTC @ $10,617.97

Current price $11,344.11 = $8.9m and $3.4m in front in $ terms respectively

This will likely be very volatile. With holdings that large, BTC price volatility could result in the impact in $ terms being in the millions or tens of millions of $ per day!
