Barclays Premier Account - experiences?
Discussion
I think it's actually one of the best out of all the 'Premier' accounts - reason being is that it gives you the useful banking things that you don't get with normal current accounts like increased ATM and on-line banking limits without charge (both very useful when buying a house). If you want all the stuff that comes with the other Premier accounts, you can add this on as an option - I don't, so I haven't.
All of the others seem to chuck this in and want you to pay a monthly fee, without any ability to opt out.

i told barclay to poke it and joined nationwide building society. i even have a branch phone number to call now as well. cannot fault them..anyway....
barclays took a monthly fee from me which i questioned as i had a very decent sum sitting with them. never got a response. additionally,
phone call system is chaos
personal bankers are chocolate fireguards
overall, glad i dumped them

I have one of these accounts, does not cost anything and I got a free ice cream from thorntons last time I went shopping. From that point on I base all decisions on financial products on how much ice cream they give me.
I'm going to have to work harder if these are the benefits 'the other half' enjoy. craigjm said:
The premier accounts from Barclays and HSBC are ok and have no fee attached just strings that you have to earn a certain amount and / or have a decent investment ability. Banks only really start caring about you when you become eligible for private banking though.
Yes 75k+ salary or 100k+ in savings/investments from my google searching.Wouldn't put it past my colleague to have mentioned the Premier Account with the ulterior motive of me finding this out.

I have it too. Cost £3 per month but I get £8 back in rewards. Basically if you use their services you get money back for being a good customer. No real down sides from what I can see and you get a free £1000 overdraft (no charges), you can also draw up to £1000 per day from the hole in the wall.
That's Blue Rewards not Premier.I have a Premier account .... there are a few perks but I've never used any of them.
I have this account also.... no fee's just a few perks and I have to be honest I have been pretty impressed with everything they have done with me so far, I don't have that much interaction with them though, yet to pass a Pattiserie Vallery too for my free Coffee? Do you just show your card?
Alas the other thing, I meet none of the criteria to get this for free, which as you can imagine, I haven't questioned. I have been with Barclays for 20 years, maybe its a loyalty thing!

The Barclays app says free mince pies every day @ patesserie Valerie (alongside the free coffee)
But the one near my workplace state the mince pies are only on Fridays.
Who is right?
Outrageous
I asked for clarity via the PV website contact us form. But the one near my workplace state the mince pies are only on Fridays.

Barclays app is right.
They apologised & sounds like they gave the branch co concerned a rollicking as my polite question was treated as a complaint!)
