On the assumption Biden is going to win, I am half wondering about getting out of a few US stocks...

Thoughts ?
Why?

If Biden wins you are likely to see an upturn in fiscal spending which will drive the markets higher. I dont see a negative for US stocks no matter who gets elected.

The biggest shift is likely the effect on the GBP to USD when the UK EU deal is done/not done.

My assumption is that Bidens policy of a corporate tax rate increase from 21% to 28% will hit investor sentiment.

Where are they going to put the money?
There is already a lack of investment opportunities compared to the cash available.

I agree. If nothing else the insane volatility trump causes will be gone.

So I’ve lost almost 25k on HNR now Zoetic, which basically turned out to be a complete scam / daylight robbery from the CEO Robert price. I can’t see this ever recovering as my average is in the 20s.

Any advice on how to move on from here? I won’t be putting any new money into shares but have a few thousand left to move elsewhere?
Hope you still hold

I could be wrong, but looking at some of the biggest boomers, Tesla has made a profit one quarter, not sure Peloton has made one yet. Unless they make a profit, they won’t pay corp tax surely?

Peloton.

$10k invested in March looks like it will be worth $100k by Christmas.

Peloton made profit last quarter:

"It swung to a profit of $89.1 million, or 27 cents per share, compared with a loss of $47.4 million, or $2.07 per share, a year earlier. Its earnings per share came in 17 cents ahead of analysts’ expectations"

Anyone else in NCYT?

Going very nicely at the minute due to big orders from the NHS for their COVID testing kits. Held them for a few months now and close to 100% up - but I wish I'd bought them last year (10,000% up!)

LSE share chat saying price manipulation, some big share sell offs after hours as well price <<might>> drop tomorrow as a consequence.

Opened up 14% !

I heard they were one of the two most shorted stocks in September so maybe now all the shorts are unwound it might recover.

Rumours of takeover/rescue by BAE:-

The UK state has a ‘golden share’ in Rolls-Royce, thereby providing Whitehall with a veto over specific strategic decisions. The government would be loath to see the group fall into foreign hands, perhaps even from a national security perspective, but it might look upon any domestic approach more favourably. Step forward BAE Systems (BA.). A merger proposal by the UK defence heavyweight would certainly make strategic sense given Rolls-Royce’s unique aerospace capabilities, while an enterprise value-to-sales (EV/sales) ratio of 0.2, set against a five-year average of 0.9, underlines significant indebtedness coupled with a faltering top line – arguably just the time to move in.

I added some more Cineworld this morning - about 4 days too late and also picked up a few more Smith & Wesson on the open today.

Still looking to offload/reduce exposure to Tesco if they move up. They're going ex-div next week so at least will get a bit of money if I hang around.

Cineworld?

Haven’t they basically gone bust this week?

They closed cinemas in the US and UK temporarily. Clearly they haven't gone bust yet.

That could be a bloody long ‘temporarily’
