Post duplicated from the ‘what’s your big gamble thread’.
Depending on your risk appetite and knowledge/interest in this particular space, I am presently looking to initiate a position in Albert Labs Inc, who will soon be completing a RTO of ME Resource Corp in order to list on the CSE in Canada.

The RTO and Albert Labs Inc is backed by https://theconscious.fund/
It’s an area of medicine which I feel could unlock exceptional health benefits and value as a shareholder.
Probably one to tuck away for the future rather than day trade.
A second company, also due to RTO is Oxford-based Small Pharma, who will be conducting the first ever human patient clinical trial in DMT therapy from this summer - https://www.smallpharma.co.uk/

14p divi due 8th April., current return 6.82%. Not sure that can be sustained but I have a little Aviva and having dived a year ago, is now near back to pre CV19 levels.

What are peoples thoughts on Cineworld? Pretty much on its knees at the moment but a glut of films due out soon?
I’m glad I got out of CINE at the start of the crisis. I take your point but I’m not brave enough to get back in any time soon. If you feel like taking a punt do it but imo it’s a risky gamble, the company could collapse.bad company said:

I’ve chucked some throwaway money at it today. I just feel like it’s one of those industries that’ll experience (albeit short) Renaissance this summer as we come out of Covid. Although the dips this month means I’m currently upside down at the moment on my stocks. So take what I say with a dumper truck of salt 😂

Hmmm. I'm not sure how quickly cinemas are going to bounce back. Are people really going to be rushing out of lockdown to go and sit in front of a big TV for several hours in a dark room with dozens of other people?
...when you can put it on pause, have a pee-break, get another beer/nice-cup-of-tea, and you're probably watching it on a big enough screen with more than adequate sound and it's piped to you from your vendor of choice by subscription of a fiver a month no matter how many in your household....It's a tough one to visualise - whatever the financials might say.... .... I think, while there are other propositions to invest in, this comes well down the pecking order......IMHO

I can see I’m not winning you over though

That’s been the case for years now though and nowt to do with the pandemic. I’ve never understood the appeal for a £50 night ‘out’ watching a film I could watch at home, but seemingly many others do. Really don’t get it myself.
There will always be cinephiles who value this experience. You really cannot duplicate the experience of watching something like Dunkirk or Apollo 11 in full-scale IMAX at home.Witchfinder said:

Undoubtedly - my perspective is that, alone, doesn't equate to a profitable business model - or at least not to the extent that would make a stake an attractive investment for the long termWitchfinder said:

Yes, accepted as heard that from many. Just can’t understand it myself but then I was spending £250-£300 a week on socialising 5 or so years ago and many others would say why not have friends over at home so I can appreciate its horses for courses. Not really a TV and film person so hard for me to understand but friends of mine that are will gladly go to a cinema as well as have their own mini cinema in their homes. It’s their “thing” and I can’t see that changing once the pandemic passes. Gassing Station | Finance | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
