Fair enough no issues with that. I don't go for tobacco either because i think it is a declining industry even though china and india could make it grow.

I find it can help to turn these questions on their head. So, if we didn't have cinemas, but had modern tech, would anyone bother to invent the concept of the cinema? Thought not..... So that to my mind makes it a dying industry.
If someone invented football, rugby or boxing now they’d be banned. Are those sports dying industries?
And alcohol.
Not to mention cigarettes. Tobacco shares are the only ones I won’t buy on moral grounds.
I have no morals in stock buying if it makes money. If a company said they ground up live babies to increase the effeciency of coal power stations and it worked i'd buy it. laugh

However I realise morals can affect a stock price.

Yes, I put in for £1k. Had I known that was the max I wouldn't have bothered.

When Biden announces his $2Bn infrastructure plan today, I'd expect US construction firms to go up. So its AECOM for me today.

Deliveroo tanked on the IPO today. After the recent court ruling on Gig workers rights, that not a surprise.

Mostly funded by a 7% corporate tax rate hike.

How's Deliveroo doing - suddenly become massively profitable and popular today?

I don't see the point. The people who work for them like the flexibility of it. Bringing in holidays sick pay etc just means they might as well get a retail job. Except those people don't want that. And deliveroo can't operate under that model. Lose lose for both.

Must admit i can't think of anything worse than having my food transported across town by someone who is completely uninvested in the success of the company beyond a single day. I know am probably out of touch, but strangers handling my food in a restaurant is bad enough let along multiple hops with very limited visibility across a wide distance.

Getting old eekeek

Deliveroo riders doing just work for deliveroo.

They can start a shift and log into deliveroo, uber eats , stuart apps and pick and choose who they work for as the orders come in.

I can't see the difference between that and any takeaway company?

Bought some Amigo today. Considering the court ruled positive I see less risk here now.

Apart from with most takeaways you turn up yourself and pick up the food, so the number of handlers is fewer than some random transporting your food across town you mean? Or do you mean takeaways doing their own deliveries, which is not really takeaway but delivery biggrin in which case, yes, i agree, and i never get delivery always pickup.

I'm not in a rush to get back to restaurants as might be obvious from my covid acquired OCD.
