I actually made a decent profit on Facebook CFDs on Thursday - who woulda thunk it?scratchchin
Even after all the "Facebook is gathering all my details and I don't like it" business, I ended up with 7% profit.
Holding on to them for the minute, but the aftermarket had a distinct downturn to it. It'll be interesting to see what happens to them on Tuesday.

SKY look like they could be promising - bought in first thing this morning and already at a reasonable profit (CFD, no proper trading).

Hmm

Spotify, or Dropbox?

Can’t help thinking Spotify reminds me of plenty of other firms that have never made a profit, and all their competitors don’t need to depend on their streaming services making a profit.

Dropbox is a known quantity but have they anything new to offer in the future or will they just be a one-hit wonder?

Yes it's still down from R2 approval.

I'm still invested, but just cannot explain the lack of interest given the (supposed) potential revenues.

Good question. I went for Spotify today as I feel like online storage will be long-term dominated by vendors more tightly integrated into functional software such as Google (G-Suite) and Office 365. Not many people will write a document in Google Docs then download it / upload it to Dropbox. Personally, I have switched from Dropbox in the last few months, after many years of uploading documents and pictures, to Google Drive as its also where I manage my photos, documents, spreadsheets and email. I've kept my account but downgraded to the free version as I already pay Google for storage of my photos. No point in having 2 paid cloud storage locations for my stuff. I wonder how many people will do the same? Dropbox should have IPO'd years ago IMO.

Spotify is not perfect, so I feel a bit of a punt still. And the route they took to 'kind of IPO' was an interesting experiment. I've gone for it based on that alone... not dropped much into it, so we'll see. Functionally I see them competing with only Apple Music and Amazon moving forward, I do fear they may suffer the long term fate that I see for dropbox when it comes to consolidation of media streaming (Why have Amazon prime and Spotify when you can have just one account to do the same thing). But I feel like a 3-6 month wave of speculation will build them up nicely for a decent short-term play. We'll see.

DocuSign is another one of high interest to me in the short term. I'll be watching the build-up closely.

Finally I also 'bought the dip' on Salesforce. I believe pretty strongly in their business model and the recent acquisition of Mulesoft I thought was an excellent addition. Recent price jitters have brought it back down considerably from their all-time high only a few months ago, so I feel it's currently undervalued. Once the market figures out why they bought Mulesoft (I think I get it already so I'm confident) I think it will accelerate at a steady pace.

Anyone else in Stellar Diamonds ? STEL http://stellar-diamonds.com/

Tiny unfunded (potential) miner being acquired buy NewField Resources ASX:NWF within the next month....6p now in exchange 0.7622 of a New NWF share (approx 10p worth) in a few weeks.

Was notified this week of the NWF offer by Lloyds as I cant hold within my ISA with them so got to transfer out to someone whose platform supports trading on ASX.....

Seems like a done deal and 40% ish gain in a month on the table.....

"Proposed Acquisition by Newfield Resources (NWF).

0.7622 of a New NWF share for each Stellar Diamonds Ordinary share held.

Please note that all trading in the New NWF shares will be undertaken on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX).

The Boards of Stellar and NWF have announced that they have reached an agreement on the terms of a Recommended All-Share Offer by NWF for the entire issued and to be issued share capital of Stellar to be effected by means of a Scheme of Arrangement under Part 26 of the Companies Act 2006.

Based on a NWF share price of AUS0.24 per share and an exchange rate of AUD1.83 to GBP1.00, the Acquisition values the share capital of Stellar at approximately GBP6.2 million and represents a value of approximately 10 pence per Stellar Share.

The Scheme is subject to shareholder approval at a General Meeting and Court approval at a Court Meeting both to be held on 19th April 2018. The Scheme will then be subject to Court sanctioning at a Court Hearing to be held on 25th April 2018. Subject to acquiring the necessary approval, the Scheme is expected to become effective on 26th April 2018.

Prior to the Scheme becoming effective, an application will be made to the London Stock Exchange for the cancellation of listing of Stellar shares. The cancellation of admission to trading is expected to become effective on 30th April 2018 with the last day in dealings in Stellar shares expected to be on 26th April 2018.

The New NWF shares are expected to be issued to shareholders on or around 3rd May 2018 with dealings expected to commence on the ASX on 4th May 2018."

Regarding the bonds buyback/conversion?

Negative or positive impact on SP?
I'd say positive.
