Newcastle Building Society appear to have removed their 4.3% easy access account from their website. I found it, replied to an email, refreshed the page and it had gone!

I’ve done much the same - opened on my work laptop. Thought better of mixing work and home. Went back on my personal laptop. Vanished!

I'm in a similar boat....my crappy 2% fixed with Marcus just matured so moved everything into the online savings account.

Saying that I've got some cash languishing with Virgin in a 3% account, need to open a new account but.not sure whether I wait a bit longer ....hoping we will see 4.5%+ easy access ....

Not a bad rate. Opens up quite a gap to chase at 3.8% now.

No, it's actually slow reaction to the previous rise. My account was showing 4.3% this morning before the announcement.

Chase aren’t putting their rate up until the 14th, Marcus is straight away. I’ve shifter my short term cash from HSBC which was 4% to Marcus.

Thanks for the heads up.

Though I think not being allowed to go less than £25k at all might make it too limiting and ponderous.

Well, they stumbled at the first hurdle. The verify e-mail address link never arrived, even after repeated resends (not in any spam etc). Contact Us showed everything offline at the weekend. So I couldn't transfer any money if I wanted to. Not exactly inspiring confidence. laugh

The poster said they were quick after the announcement but the rise in rate was before it. I expect the reaction of a further rise will be in another 4 weeks or so.

Newsflash: Uzbek Agricultural Bank gone into liquidation, all assets lost.

Actually, I'm surprised - given all these pop-up internet so-called banks that appear from nowhere every week, I'm surprised there isn't one called The Piggy Bank spin

(and if someone starts it I want me 10% for thinking of it first)
