Interesting to watch...loving the house with the plane in the garden

Not featured in the preview video, I note that the Austin Healey 3000 seems to have a surprisingly low estimate of 18K to 22K
or maybe this is the auctioneers' attempt to 'tease the punters' ?

Love that all original 1937 Bentley..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b6SEE2JDqfA&fe...
Can't believe the £30-40k estimate for the WW2 jeep though, that's bonkers, especially one that looks so wrong

The only obvious error I can see with that Healey (lot 5) is that it has the wrong bonnet grill - the bars should match the bars on the main grill; horizontal bars belong on a 100/6 or 3000 Mk 1. See lot 50 for how it should be. Lot 61 is also wrong as a '59 car should be either a 100/6 or a 3000, with twin carbs (and horizontal grill bars). Lot 115 looks very nice but hasn't been restored by a specialist, 'cos they'd have put the wing flashes on the right way round !

Not sure how the jeep went on...the detail for example included a length of bullets draped across the gun mounted in the middle.
From memory it was done by a guy who restores classic F1 cars and he does this outside of that. I looked at the 2CV van he also did and that was just superb. Little Michelin man on the top and a rack of Michelin tyres in the back. That went for just underneath estimate £13k ish
Bentley went for £750k or it may have been £760k...add on the buyers charge +£100k.

I believe £26KI attended, some of the the low estimates seemed rather optimistic and I was unsurprised they were not reached - some by a fair margin.
This has been reflected in a number of auctions that I have recently attended. Have prices peaked? - it appears so for some of the marques such as Jaguar, whilst Ford prices seem to march ever upward.
I reckon that some of the auction houses need to be more realistic in their estimates and temper sellers expectations.

Those prices are the hammer price and then the 12.5% commission on top. Not sure if they also then apply vat to the commission part ?
In our case it was a hammer price of £68k and its marked down as sold at £76,500...lot 49. Some things went well over....like the MGR V8...lot 77
If you're looking at the prices on the H&H website, then they are inclusive of Buyers Premium - just try dividing them by 1.125 which will give the Hammer PriceIn our case it was a hammer price of £68k and its marked down as sold at £76,500...lot 49. Some things went well over....like the MGR V8...lot 77
You then need to add VAT onto the Buyers Premium to get the final Amount to Pay
The exception appears to be the Ford Jeep, which I *think* may be mistakenly showing Hammer Price (£23300) ?
They seem to have 'sold' (I say that as lots are sold but then re-appear at the next auction!) about 60% of lots
Seems to me more than usual lots went for a price at or over the high estimates.
Not sure if that's simply because the estimates were low or what ?
Yeah, the MG RV8 was notable
Other notable lots:
Lot# 20 Porsche 911 Hi=18K Sold=30K
Lot# 124 Jag MkI Hi=22K Sold=30K
Lot #53 Alfa GTV Hi=12K Sold=16K
