Motor mechanics - evening classes
Discussion
I thought I would see if there are any local evening classes on motor maintenance in the West Midlands. However, I can't find anything, despite checking with local colleges and the community adult education services. Day courses yes, but not evening classes. I've also tried all the local U3A web sites but nothing there either (there's no lower age limit, apparently!)
Do any car clubs do classes? Is there anywhere else I could try?
TIA

Holy thread resurrection Batman!
3 years on, despite paying upfront for a few different college evening classes across the region, I still haven’t managed to attend a single class - they just get cancelled. The one I was due to start this week apparently had only two applications so wasn’t viable to run.
I learn quite well in formal classes but it seems like either people aren’t interested or they are good at just getting stuck in and teaching themselves.
Any ideas?

Do you have a car to practise on? Whereabouts are you? I'm sure there would be someone near to help/teach if you have specific jobs to do in exchange for a few beer tokens.
If your looking for the theoretical side there is online learning. Engineering explained on YouTube does a good job of explaining and knows his stuff.

I am in the midlands I have an Alfa GT so yes I definitely have a car to practice on. This week’s issue is replacing the passenger door handle hinge. Last week it was the window washer hose. Tomorrow I am driving an hour to collect a new bumper from someone breaking his, so after the door handle I will be googling how to replace that. A neighbour did offer to show me how to change the alternator but then COVID happened and I ended up just taking it to the garage.
