Blah blah blah...

You have lost the plot.

Sigh!
I'm afraid roadsmash you have lost the topic of the thread.

The topic of the thread is, thoughts related to this "new" currency. I've shared some thoughts. You have shared your spam links.

Yeah I’d keep Googling if I were you.

He’s right, you’re wrong, it’s not a cryptocurrency.

I love your’s and Eddie’s attempts at saving the planet, by stopping “idiots” such as us from joining up to a free experiment that is being made readily available to everyone.

I know your type, it’s evident from your posts; you’re too stubborn to step out of your comfort zone to try something new, but instead of wishing others the best of luck, you try to grind people down and encourage them to stay in a little bubble along with you.

Don’t be jealous that others are willing to give something a try by joining a very low risk experiment

Stop stressing yourself out about what strangers are doing on the internet.

Clearly no one is listening to your expert advice, and are joining up, so just bugger off?

Oh and save the lame reply about how I’m wrong and you’re right, because I’m not going to listen. WE DO NOT CARE if this experiment doesn’t take off, we are just signing up to see what happens.

Here’s some advice, put a little note in your calendar for 2-3 years’ time with a link to this thread and come back and ask us how it went.
Lol, I never said it was crypto currency. I said virtual currency. Which it is.

Jealous? Of what? Anyone can join, there is nothing stopping me, you, or anyone else signing up. Its a choice.

What I've asked is what is the benefit to it above any other payment system in existence, and nobody has an answer other than repeating the marketing material and posts like yours which dont offer anything other than blind belief and hope. If you know differently, please, do tell.

Anyway, good luck. Seriously. I think you'll need it.

Nothing worse than someone who deletes their posts to strengthen their argument.

There is nothing worse than a forum newbie who gets belligerent with existing members who are commenting on the topic of the thread!

2,500+ posts? Bloody hell you big cheese.

Bet you’ve got a big knob too!

Not sure why people on this forum believe that the bigger number next to their name means they’re more important.

I just need to correct one small point.

"Initiative Q is an attempt by ex-PayPal guys".

No it isn't, it is an attempt by a chap whose company was bought out by Paypal and then left to achieve who knows what.

The only certainty is that if anyone makes money out of this pyramid marketing scheme it will be him, certainly not any of the fools who have given their details to make his endeavour look worth a few bob to Private Equity.

Ok, here are a few to get you started.

Condi said:
So, to everyone who believes in the marketing material, or has thought about it.....

If 'everyone' is going to be using the payment system, then the Q's must be readily available to everyone - so why would they be expensive later? Its in the operators interest to make them as low value as possible, as that means it has low barriers to entry.

If people are going to have to buy these Q's, and their value is going to fluctuate, then what about the risk of the Q's changing in value between buying them, and spending them? If the price of Q's goes down by 10%, then you've lost 10% of your money when you convert back to Pounds.

What are the benefits over credit cards, or PayPal? We have a system which works in nearly every single shop in the UK, costs me nothing, and I can use online to buy things from anywhere in the world. Not only that, but my bank protects me from fraud and will cover my losses in case the goods dont turn up. What more can you ask for?

What differentiates Q from any other of the hundreds of crypto currencies which have been released in the last 5 years?
And an acceptable answer to the last question is not 'Its not a crypto currency'. I know its NOT a crypto currency, but it behaves like one from a user experience, and they are ALL seemingly trying to solve a problem I dont agree exists. So what differentiates is, from a users point of view?

How’s this?

The Q’s are only given out free for a limited time, to build the network. I think this answers your question.

This is called a fluctuating exchange rate. I trust you understand what that is?

Welcome to currency trading I guess? I don’t know what you want me to say here. That’s how currency trading works.

There are no benefits, yet.

In the same way that before PayPal/Apple Pay etc we used credit cards. Before cards we used cash... and so on.

Something has to start and build momentum before it goes anywhere... obviously.

I know you said not to say this, but you don’t scare me so I’m going to say it! It’s not a crypto currency so cannot be compared.

Very good, thank you for trying to answer them.

I dont think many of your answer stand up to argument to be honest, but at least you've thought about them.

For me, there simply isnt a problem the idea is trying to solve, and I dont see what is better than what already exists. It introduces risks which arnt there with credit cards, and also removes all the legal protection around c/cards. IMO it can be compared to a crypto-currency, because they both serve the same aims, albeit in a different way.

But anyway, we're not going to agree, and honestly, best of luck. It wont come to anything beyond a few geeks swopping among themselves in the same way that despite all the publicity, national news, and fanfair, Bitcoin has totally failed as a currency and actual spending transactions are minimal.

So keeping in mind that their first stated objective is that "today's payment systems (credit cards, cash, wire transfers) are old and outdated, which means we’re all bearing unnecessary costs."

So they want to remove unnecessary costs. Fine. Except they are going to add in lots of unnecessary costs by requiring money to be switched between a fiat currency and their new currency.

But they gloss over that point by going big on the bullst so they can tempt greedy people (that's you by the way) with the lure of free money.

Sorry you can't see it doesn't add up. But you won't be getting any free money. Which means you will have to keep up that job at Maccy D's for the time being I'm afraid.

Time for my question.

Why do you care so much?

I care to the extent I like people to make an informed decision. So for example, I share things on this forum which hopefully others can benefit from (hence the ebay scam example which you keep mentioning). In the same way, I benefit by reading about other people's experiences.

As I said previously, it's of no consequence to me whether or not you sign up or not. But the topic of this thread is to share thoughts on this new currency. It isn't to do their marketing work for them by being naive.

So I make no apology for being sceptical. But everyone can make their own decisions. It's all fine with me smile
