Everything has been very busy (as I am sure you can imagine) and the budget today has thrown more into the mix.
'Half price meals out Mon-Weds'. I've never heard a Chancellor sound like a sales promotion agency before. But can he really keep pulling billions out of thin air? Short term boost for longer term catch-up pain?

I think he's doing a good job so far.
Yes someone will have to pay but let's hope its spread over a longgggg period of time for us.

I agree, and he doesn't attract the class hatred/leftie jeers that Boris does. I wouldn't be surprised if he stands for PM one day.

I think he is a future PM, been quite impressive so far.

My money is now in the PH recovery and equity funds. When will the recovery fund start or has it already started? Hoping to watch my money double each day haha. If it doesn't i've got the blunt pitchfork ready.

You'll need to catch up, we've moved on to sharpening them. (Pitchforks can go up or down depending on how the fund performs)

Hi Julian,

Not sure if it’s been mentioned yet, but is the 100% return AFTER fees?

Cheers smile

A fair question....I can see our investments allocated since Monday, but the value hasn't yet changed. Given it is 'just' a number of specific stocks in a certain ratio, I assume you could still add to them, just the 'sell' price would be defined at a particular point in time. I'm sure Julian or Nik will cover it tomorrow

The fees are an annual charge - we'll be out before there are any charges biggrin

Morning All smile

We all know this is just banter (well, apart from the pitchforks!) but for the sake of anyone else reading this, PH Recovery is a portfolio of good stocks that have been hit hard by CV19.

They have the potential to deliver a 100% return if they recover to their pre CV19 prices (collectively).

This means that this is a speculative investment that carries higher risk than our other portfolios. They could continue to fall or simply not recover.

Whilst this is a buy and hold until recovery portfolio, if we see a second wave of CV19 the mandate is to sell out and lock in any initial gains made (if there are any) early.

Clients will then have the ability to go back in at a new low should they wish.

The logic is sound, but markets can be irrational and so there are no guarantees.

Right, serious bit over and I am now going to make a cup of tea before getting back to you cheeky sods! biggrin

I've just signed up for PH recovery.

If you could double my money in around a month, that would be great. I've got a new driveway being laid in a couple of weeks, so really need something nice to put on it...

Excited to be involved - it can't go any worse than my efforts on the gamble thread. If it does, I've got my pitchfork sharpened already.

(Julian, Nik, I'm the one who left a note saying I'm waiting on Vanguard to release funds but please take this meagre sum as an opening balance to get the ball rolling. Might help you put a face (IM customer number) to a PH username.)
Welcome on board for the PH Recovery ride!

We will do our best, as I would hate for you to to have an empty space on your new driveway! biggrin

I am considering having a pitchfork holding within the portfolio now! hehe

Thanks for the note, whilst we know many people by their real names and usernames, there are many other where we only know them by one or the other!

Cheers

Julian

I'm now in with PH Recovery for a whopping £120! Diverted a subset of my regular SIPP contribution over to it whilst I wait for the transfer of some of the existing funds to go over too.
Morning Stephen

I am afraid we had to return it, as a stake at that level could have an impact on the markets. hehe

Welcome on board this one, it is going to be interesting… smile
